How to Firm Up Sagging Neck Skin - By Reversing the Causes

Author: Kathryn Lane

How to firm up sagging neck skin is a question that bedevils a lot of women who think their skin is pretty good, otherwise.

In fact, it's interesting how many of us believe sagging neck skin is going to give us away, no matter what.

But how to firm up sagging neck skin is an issue that does NOT have to be answered by a surgeon's knife.

You can reverse sagging neck skin by nourishment, moisturizing and protection from damage, just as you can nourish your skin everywhere else.

Start by addressing the main causes of sagging neck skin and all problems of aging skin. Here they are:

1. Loss of natural collagen and elastin, the primary ingredients in healthy skin;

2. reduced levels of hyaluronic acid, also called hyaluronan, which is vital to cell growth in the skin;

3. and oxidation from excessive free radicals in your skin.

1. To firm up sagging neck skin, a skincare product must stimulate collagen, elastin and the regrowth of new skin cells. As your collagen and elastin levels increase, your neck skin will get firmer and softer, the wrinkles will slowly disappear.

There are skincare ingredients that also reduce fine lines and wrinkles in the neck and promote firmness and elasticity in the skin.

One of them, called Functional Keratin, is a natural substance extracted from the wool of New Zealand sheep. Keratin is a protein found throughout the body, an important structural component in skin and nails. The ability to convert natural keratin into a functional form that is readily available to the skin is a recent breakthrough.

2. For raising the levels of hyaluronic acid, a remarkable ingredient is wakame, a variety of kelp, native to Japan. In Japan, wakame is extensively cultivated and eaten both fresh and dried, for its health-giving properties, including its ability to keep the skin looking young and beautiful.

A refined, trademarked version called Phytessence Wakame also inhibits the activity of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid in the skin. Hyaluronic acid, together with elastin and collagen, is essential to maintain the elasticity, smoothness and tone of the skin to firm up your sagging neck skin.

3. Coenzyme Q10 is a superb antioxidant. If you can, look for Coenzyme Q10 in "nano-emulsion" form, for better penetration into the skin. It is extremely effective at destroying free radicals in your skin for a great anti-wrinkle effect.
