The primary purpose of a concealer
is to offset the natural shadows that occur under the eyes and,
in more elaborate makeup applications, to highlight certain areas
of the face such as the center of the nose, forehead, top of
the cheekbones, or center of the chin.
The under-eye area needs concealer
most because the eye is set back in its socket, which lies in
a shadow created by the surrounding bone structure. The skin
around the eye also tends to be thinner than the skin on the
rest of the face, so pigment discolorations and surface veins
show through easily, making the under-eye area look dark and
dull. The first thing you need, then, is a lightweight, flesh-tone
concealer that is a shade or two lighter than your foundation.

Always moisturize your face before
applying concealer. It will make the application much easier
and your finished look will be smoother and better blended. |

Start by primeing the eyelids
with your concealer before your eyeshadow application. Use a
brush and cover the whole eyelid with concealer. Take a sponge
and then blend. You don't want any lines. A pencil concealer
will provide good coverage and go on smoothly.
Make sure to remove any eyeshadow
droppings from under your eye before you start the next step
of covering blemishes and dark spots. Lower your chin and look
up in the mirror to find any shadows on your face. Look for dark
areas under eye and around nose. Using a pencil concealer you
can basically just color around the dark areas. Color all the
way under eye up to lashes. Make sure to Blend, Blend, Blend.
Use a sponge lightly to press in the concealer. Remember the
spots around the edges of your nose and also the bridge. Putting
concealer on the bridge will bring light to the center of your
face.

any beauty emergency. Concealer hides dark circles, small imperfections,
the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and signs of fatigue.

The Best Concealer Choose a makeup
concealer that is lightweight yet creamy. A stick concealer provides
direct on-the-spot application. A quality concealer is texture-free,
virtually invisible and vitamin-enriched. The best concealer
will brighten and lighten dark areas, erase spots and even out
skin tones. Quality concealers make skin flaw-free. Most concealers,
including under eye concealers, can be used under foundation
or on their own. Find a concealer that is water-resistant, fragrance-free
and non-comedogenic.
A quality concealer with a dry
texture will last the longest as the cream base can conform to
your skin.
A liquid concealer tends to run
or travel and has a tendency to melt on you if the temperatures
ascend. To coat dark circles under eyes, you need a yellow or
peach-tone concealer. A yellow concealer will understate bluish
discolorations.
The best concealer may be reused
with no caking or streaking on either damp or dry skin. A neutral
tone of undereye concealer helps neutralize the purple/brown
shades of bruising, undereye circles and other concealing challenges.
Neglect concealers containing
oils, because the oil will settle into the fine lines under your
eyes and draw attention to the circles. When applying a cosmetic
under eye concealer, wearing foundation is a must to void need
the "white mask" look.
Cream foundation and power foundation
can also be employed like a concealer. Pimples and under-eye
circles are the most common concealer targets, but there are
a host of other complexion spoilers which need covering: small
scars, broken blood vessels, redness around the nose, the inner
corner of your eyes. Do not employ concealer which is more light
as compared to foundation or do not match with foundation as
it can give the result of over emphasizing spots instead of covering
them up. For times when undereye circles are particularly dark,
it can be necessary to lightly apply an additional quantity of
concealer after the foundation and makeup.
