How much Make-Up is the Right Amount?

As women, we all love to use
makeup to enhance our features and improve our appearance. Based
on our mood, the occasion and time of day, we change our makeup
to bring out the best effects. But most often women wonder, am
I wearing enough makeup or is my makeup a bit too
much. I am sure you too have been in doubt about the amount
of makeup you should apply and would suit you best.
How do you determine the right
amount of makeup for your face? The following pointers would
help you in coming to a decision on your makeup usage and guide
you towards achieving the right amount of makeup for yourself.
Foundation If the color
of your neck and hands stand out from your face, then you are
obviously using the wrong shade of foundation. Where as caked
up foundation is definitely too much makeup, the
wrong color also brings out the same disastrous effects. So when
you choose a foundation, match it against the darkest shade on
your cheek, thus enabling it to blend with your overall skin
tones |

- Mascara Do not over
do your mascara, you may lose the feel of your eyelashes and
your eyes may seem heavy and brooding. Two layers should do the
trick to add volume to even the most scanty eye lashes, enhancing
them in a most natural and attractive manner. Take short breaks
between applications, allowing for the mascara to dry on your
lashes and prevent clumping
· Eye shadow If your eyes appear overly highlighted,
making them look like two blotches on your face, then you have
too much eye shadow on. Apply your shadow to blend with your
skin tones, with lighter tones at the periphery. Never use excess
eye shadow during the day, as this can make you appear presumptuous
· Lipstick It is very important to choose the right
lipsticks shades to suit your face and skin tones. Where as excess
lipstick may not bring out dramatic effects, unsuitable shades
will definitely make you appear to be wearing too much makeup
Always strive to achieve that
natural look, avoiding the made up look
that makes your makeup stand out over your features. Make sure
each section of your face blends with one another and with the
overall effect. Also try to match your clothes according to your
makeup, for even better results.
The amount of makeup you should
use may also vary according to the occasion. For example, special
occasions may call for more emphasis on your makeup, while, day
to day activities would be best suited with minimal makeup.
Also remember, no matter how
much makeup you use, if you do not maintain your skin, following
a healthy beauty ritual, no amount of makeup can give you that
healthy, wholesome beauty. Although you can hide those pores,
pimples, saggy eyes and sunburns under layers of makeup and concealer,
the final effect would never be as natural and attractive as
the healthy, flawless skin you can achieve through better beauty
practices.
