How to Blow Dry Your Hair

Author: Zoltan Vargyai

Blow dry hair to create volume by limp hair a lift without battling the frizz that blow drying often causes. Experts at Compton hair will guide you to blow dry hair and you will achieve maximum volume and shiny finish.

For blow dry your hairs first wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo which provides extra moisture to protect your hair from the effects of the blow dryer. Then towel off the hairs slightly to stop the dripping. Separate your hairs into 4-6 sections.

Then start blow dry hair at the top/roots, six inches away from your scalp. Then work your way down and move the blow dryer around never dry in an upwards motion. Stop blow drying hair at the moment your hair become dry.

You can also blow dry hair to get the shine. The more you brush and blow dry, the more shine you will get. Roll the hair around the brush and direct the nozzle onto your hair, unroll slowly by brushing down and out.

When you blow dry hair it’s important to direct the not air down the hair shaft as it will force your hair cuticles to be flat. And it makes your hair smoother and shimmer. You should wait for a few seconds to let the hair cool down before removing the brush.

Then start blasting cold air onto this hair section. To stop any accidentally running your blow dried hair start styling at the back and move from underneath to the top. Also make sure to fully dry each section before moving to another one.

If you are going to Blow Dry Hair at home then you should start in the bang area, using a brush. And if your hair is long then go to a large brush. Over direct your hair, wrapping it around the brush drying the roots to create lift and volume.

Hold the brush to get that area cool and then follow your hair all the way to the end of brush. While coming to the next section start from at the top of the head, working all the way down and around to finish blow dry hair.

When you will blow dry hair hold the dryer in a comfortable position. Don’t hold it too close to your head as this will damage your hair and scalp. You can use your fingers to lift the roots. Then curl the section of your hair around the brush and apply the heat. Then you have to turn the brush in your fingers and repeat this process until the hair dry.

While blow dry your hair a quality dryer should be used. At Compton hair salon we use fine quality dryers to blow dry hair. There are a number of dryers available in market but we recommend one that is setting for low heat.

Beside a quality dryer you also need a round styling brush that is large enough for your hair. The larger the brush, your hair will have more volume and it is beneficial that it contains holes that allow the air to pass through the brush.
